HISTORY
The Governors’ Cup was born in 2024, the brainchild of Mr. J. Patrick Butler, CEO and developer of Rancho el Dorado in San Felipe, Baja California, who had the vision of creating a tournament that would unite the region’s diverse golf courses.
This idea was realized in its first edition in 2024 thanks to the excellent support of each of the managers at the participating venues in Ensenada, Puerto Penasco, Mexicali, and San Felipe, resulting in a high-quality tournament that is well-received by golfers in the region.
MISSION
Promote a love for this sport, bringing together golfers of all levels to participate; and create a community of golfers that further unites the participating venues.
Furthermore, with the creation of the Governors’ Cup, we aspire to boost tourism among the participating destinations, attracting national and international visitors who contribute to the region’s economy. With all this, our golf tournament becomes a celebration of sport, community, and solidarity.
